Comic Relief is the organization I do most of my charity work for. I've been involved for ages now, and I'm really proud of the association so far. We've raised millions of pounds to help some of the poorest and most underprivileged people in the world; and we've done it be making people laugh.

Tiger Aspect

www.tigeraspect.co.uk

Tiger Aspect is the production company that makes Lenny Henry In Pieces. Yes! It's their fault.

Neil Gaiman

www.neilgaiman.com

Neil and I worked together on the Comic Relief Jam which was a graphic novel approach to Red Nose Day which featured every British Based Comics writer/ artist we could cram into its pages . It featured loads of British comedians but also most of the Marvel /DC/2000 AD Superheroes as well as the DC Thompson posse , I think the Viz crew were involved too. Neil co -ordinated this project and it worked incredibly well and was a best seller, raising a lot of money for Comic Relief in the process.

Since then we have worked on a project called Neverwhere which a BBC tv series produced by my old company CRUCIAL. Although shot on video and relatively low budget , Neverwhere still attracted a considerable audience and due to the BBC's reluctance to put it out on DVD , became a popular bootleg item on Ebay . They have since come to their senses and released all six episodes on a very handsome DVD package.

Neil is a mensch and is the considerable brain behind The Sandman which was a landmark comic for DC in the 20th century 2000 pages of stories to make you laugh , cry and shudder. He's an award winning novelist , American Gods is a fantastic piece of work , as is Coraline (aaah you think its gonna be a cute little kids story and then it goes and scares the bejesus out of you!) If you go to his web site you'll find a very chatty , articulate thing ,that tells of the life of a successful author , on the road , trying to turn out the pages , getting excited about the new stuff and wearing shades and mostly black clothes ...all ....day... big respect to Neil , he's the don.
