The Tonight Show DVD

If you like American Stand up, and you havent got volumes one and two of The Tonight Show comedians, then you need your head examined. These two DVDs show off some of Americas funniest people making their debuts on the Tonight Show. I cant recommend them highly enough, Stephen Wrights set is awe inspiring small world but I wouldnt wanna paint it And Roseanne comes over very sweetly, and does a killer housewife/goddess styled set. Whats very funny about each comic is they clearly agonise over what they are gonna wear for hours and hours and then get mad at themselves and just walk on to the Tonight show set in whatever they arrived at the studioin. David Brenner is wearing a horrible suit, Rita Rudner looks like one of those dolls with the ruffled and ruched sleeves that you put on the toilet roll and God knows what Brett Butler is wearing- shes all in black with strange eighties, Farrah Fawcett-Majors hair, Bad Farrah! Shes from the south and dunt take any sheeittheyre all on major league form though, so you cant diss any of them. Johnny Carson used to do a great thing when a comic had done well ; he would invite them over to sit next to him and pay them compliments. On these DVDs he calls, Drew Carey, Stephen Wright and Rodney No Respect Dangerfield overits a nice touch.
